As the Protection and Advocacy (P&A) System for Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), Disability Law Colorado pursues legal, administrative and other methods to protect and advocate for the rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
We have the authority to investigate incidents of abuse and neglect, and we focus our efforts on protecting people with developmental disabilities from abuse and neglect in the developmental disabilities service delivery system. We also assist people with disabilities who are living in a restrictive setting, such as a nursing home, move into a community setting.
