We're celebrating 32 years of the Americans with Disabilities Act - protecting the rights of people with disabilities.
For thirty-two years, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has been protecting the rights of people with disabilities. The passage of the ADA was a historic victory for the disability movement and its allies. Today it remains a living testament to the enduring strength and fearlessness of people with disabilities who have fought and continue to fight for the right to live dignified, prosperous lives in their own communities.

The fight is far from over. People with disabilities are still overcoming barriers in housing, employment, services, transportation, education, and medical care. Disability Law Colorado is proud to continue this fight. Since 1976, Disability Law Colorado has defended the rights of people with disabilities as Colorado's Protection & Advocacy System. We remain steadfast in our commitment to protect the rights of people with disabilities and older people.
Join us as we celebrate the thirty-second anniversary, and look ahead to the future of disability rights advocacy. In the coming weeks, we will be reflecting on this historic occasion and highlighting milestones and individuals who have moved disability rights and advocacy forward. We've launched a campaign to share these stories, learn about the history of the disability rights movement, and blaze a path forward. Keep an eye on our website for updates, celebrations, stories, and new ways to engage with our fight for disability rights.
The ADA is an essential part of our world and the public health crisis on the magnitude of the COVID-19 worldwide pandemic underscores just how important the ADA is. People with disabilities must fight to protect their right to care, support, and resources. Disability Law Colorado is committed to safeguarding these rights. Support our work today and join us in our fight to protect the rights of people with disabilities.
