MONITORING NOTICE: As Colorado's designated disability rights Protection & Advocacy agency, Disability Law Colorado has broad authority to monitor facilities and settings that provide care, treatment, or services to individuals with disabilities. Facilities and settings that can be monitored may include, but are not limited to, state-operated facilities, private facilities, home and community-based settings, Division of Youth Services (DYS) facilities, jails, prisons, hospitals, nursing facilities, intermediate care facilities, assisted living facilities, homeless shelters, day programs, private residences where services are received, and sheltered workshops. On a monitoring visit, we may tour all areas of a facility which are accessible to people with disabilities. We may also communicate privately with residents and staff, including minors and those who have legal guardians. Communication with Disability Law Colorado is voluntary and confidential.
