Colorado has set a new standard for digital accessibility, earning recognition as the state with the most accessible government websites in the nation. According to the 2024 Web Almanac, Colorado achieved an impressive 96% accessibility score—higher than any other state. This milestone underscores Colorado’s commitment to creating online spaces that are inclusive, empowering, and accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities.

The Importance of Accessible Websites

Accessible websites are more than a convenience; they’re a necessity. They foster independence by allowing individuals to navigate and utilize digital resources without barriers. From accessing critical services to participating in civic life, digital accessibility ensures that everyone can engage fully and equitably in the online world.

This achievement is a testament to the collaborative efforts of state leaders, web developers, and advocates who share a vision of inclusivity. It demonstrates how thoughtful design and policy can work hand in hand to build a more accessible future.

At Disability Law Colorado, we are proud to support initiatives that enhance accessibility across our state. As champions of inclusivity, we recognize the profound impact that accessible digital platforms have on empowering individuals with disabilities and their families.

We celebrate Colorado’s leadership in accessibility and applaud the efforts that have made this recognition possible. Together, we can continue to push for progress, ensuring that Colorado remains a model for inclusivity and digital equity.
