Renee Payne joined Disability Law Colorado as the Community Integration Specialist in 2022. She grew up in Denver and studied Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Human Geography at the University of Colorado, Boulder. After graduating college, Renee lived and worked in João Pessoa, Brazil through a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship. She returned home to Colorado and specialized in public benefits eligibility and appeals. She then attended Northeastern University School of Law as a Public Interest Law Scholar. While in law school, she interned at Massachusetts’s Protection and Advocacy Agency. She graduated with her J.D. in September 2022 and was thrilled to move home and start her career as an advocate and ally at Disability Law Colorado. Renee lives in Lafayette with her partner and two dogs. She enjoys practicing and teaching yoga, gardening, and cooking. rpayne@disabilitylawco.org
