2026 Colorado Legislative Priorities

Disability Law Colorado advocates for policy and legislative changes during Colorado’s legislative session each year to advance the rights, independence, and wellbeing of people with disabilities. We work alongside community partners, advocates, and policymakers to improve systems that impact daily life—healthcare access, community supports, employment, housing, and more.

Each session, we track bills that affect people with disabilities, support legislation that expands access and equity, and oppose proposals that create barriers to services or reduce protections. Our goal is to ensure disability rights and lived experience are meaningfully reflected in Colorado law and policy. Here is what we are currently tracking for the 2026 session:
HB26-1040: Sterilization Rights of Person with Disabilities
HB26-1043: Transportation Network Company Discriminatory Practices
HB26-1045: Disabilities Housing Protections
